Sailor Saturn is the senshi of the death planet. She and Sailor Pluto combined are the deadliest and most powerful of the senshi. The only thing that ailes Sailor Saturn, though, is the fact that she is always sick - this makes her physically the weakest of all the scouts.

When she first appeared into the series, she was know as a bad lady, Mistress 9. She was brought to be this character when her father was forced to work with the Witches 5. In order to not be killed, he had to trade his and his daughter's soul to them. So she became the evil lady Mistress 9. When she was first put to work to find the Holy Grail, she was faced against the sailor senshi. After she had gotten all of the heart crystals, Sailor Moon convinced her to become good again and she and her father were restored to normal (after a bit of fighting and strong words)

After the Holy Grail insedence, Sailor Saturn disappeared and turned into a baby. When the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars series started, Setsuna appeared and took baby Hotaru away from Tomoe (her father) and took her under her care. As Queen Nephrenia was reintroduced, she attacked Sailor Uranus, Sailor Pluto and Sailor Neptune - but right as a monster was about to kill baby Hotaru, she released a mass of energy that blew away many of them. This gave the three outer scouts a power upgrade as Super Scouts. Soon after the battle, Hotaru grew at an amazing rate that nobody (Micharu, Setsuna and Hikaru were living together as a "family") could explain. Soon, Hotaru had a vision that Sailor Moon was in a very big danger and that they would need their help soon. Later that night she was confronted by a grown up Sailor Saturn and was given back her memories as well as a big power upgrade back to her normal age and as Super Sailor Saturn.
In a conflict with Sailor Galaxia later Sailor Saturn lost her life due to her heart crystal being taken, But after Eternal Sailor Moon restored Sailor Galaxia, everybody got their heart crystal back as well as another chance at life
