The Cave

After our first night, Foxinmon and I set out to find the other digi-destined. I was a little curious to see what they were like. We traveled for days, always walking. Sometimes Foxinmon had to digivolve when we ran into another digimon, but nothing big. I'm not totally certain WHERE exactly we were, but Foxinmon seemed to know. Finally, one night we were camping out, and I had to know where in the world (I guess the correct term is where in the digtal world) we were.

"We're on the continent of Server."

"We are? Um, where's that?"

Foxinmon thought for a moment before answering. "I'm not sure. I just know that File Island is to the East."

"Where?"

"File Island. It's the place Primary Village is."

"You need to explain things more in-depth. What's Primary Village?"

"The place where all digimon are.."born" in a sense."

"How are they born?"

"Digi-eggs."

"Where do the digi-eggs come from?"

"How am I supposed to know?! Stop asking so many questions!"

"Ok, I'll try." I stated.

~*A little later*~

"This looks like a good place to camp." I stated looking around. We were right by a stream with a forest behind us.

"Yeah, I guess. You get the wood and I'll get the food." Foxinmon instructed.

About an hour later, we both returned. Foxinmon with fish and me with plenty of firewood. I made a little pile and Foxinmon did her fire blast, giving us a nice little fire.

"It's too bad we don't have any seasonings for the fish." I stated as they cooked over the fire.

"I might have some..." Foxinmon trailed.

"Where are they?" I asked curiously.

Foxinmon smiled and took off her backpack. She opened it up and stuck her head in. "I'm certain I put them at the top. Oh well, I'll just dig deeper." she commented to herself as half of her body went into the bag. "Uh! Where are they?!" she exclaimed and soon only the tips of her two tails were visable.

Finally, there was none. There was no way Foxinmon could fit in that bag, even with nothing in it.

I walked over curiously and looked in. It was too dark to see where she went. Wait a second, that's not logical. I'd at least be able to see Foxinmon. What kind of bag is that?!

Finally I heard Foxinmon's voice exclaiming, "FOUND IT!" It sounded really far off. I stood away from the bag and Foxinmon came flying out. In her hand was a little bottle.

"I knew I had some pepper in there somewhere." she stated happily. I just stood there too amazed at what I saw to say anything.

"You OK Becks?" Foxinmon asked worried.

"That's impossible!" I exclaimed.

"What- oh! You mean my bag. Yeah, well, that's where you're wrong. A Kitimon put a spell on it. It's now an endless pit bag."

"A what?"

"Kitimon. She was my cousin, in a sense. She looks like me, only she's green and the poor thing only has one tail so she can't fly. I'd hate to only have one tail."

"Oh."

"Anyways, here is your spice!" she exclaimed happily and handed me the pepper.

I nodded dumbly and got the fish ready.

Nothing big happened that night. We ate, went to bed, etc, etc. However, the morning wasn't so uneventful.

I awoke to the familiar sound of buzzing. I looked around expecting to see Kuwagimon, but it wasn't. Instead it was a huge bee-like digimon. Foxinmon's ears went down (they do that when there's trouble) as she stated, "Uh oh."

"Who's that?!"

"Flymon. It's another bug-type digimon."

"How come the humangous bugs go after me! I'd never hurt a fly!"

"Deadly Sting!" Flymon exclaimed and shot the attacks at me.

"Foxinmon digivolve to...Faerimon!"

"Go get him Faeriemon!" I exclaimed while dodging the attacks.

"Snake Vines!" she yelled. The vines shot up and just barely missed Flymon.

Although it wasn't totally bad. Flymon ignored me and started flying for Faeriemon (I guess that isn't much better though).

"Deadly Sting!"

"Faerie Arrow!" Faeriemon exclaimed as she took an arrow. Surrounding it was a blue fire. She shot it at Flymon and he fell down to the ground.

"Go Faeriemon!" I exclaimed happily.

"Deadly Sting!" Flymon suddenly exclaimed. The attack hit Faeriemon, and she fell from the sky. On the way down, she de-digivolved to Cubmon. I caught her and started running from Flymon. However, Flymon didn't stay down long. I could hear him flying behind us.

I looked around desperately for somewhere to hide. I finally spotted a cave that had too small of an opening for Flymon to go through. I ran in there, holding Cubmon tight. The walls shook as Flymon tried to get in. I carried Cubmon deeper into the cave into I thought we were a safe distance. I finally stopped and put Cubmon down.

"Are you all right Cubmon?" I asked worried. "I'm OK." she replied weakly.

"Is there anything you need?"

"No, I just need to get back my energy and get some food in me."

I looked down sadly. "You'll get plenty of rest, but I don't have anymore food. I didn't save any."

"It's not your fault, don't worry. We'll just stay in here for now." Cubmon stated as I sat down against the wall.

I sighed and looked around. Suddenly, something caught my eye. I walked over to where it was. There was something in the rocks. I pushed away the dust and pebbles and uncovered a small tag. Cubmon walked over to see what it was.

"Wow." she stated.

"What is it?"

"It's a tag."

"Which does-?"

"Well, I heard about them. The digi-destined each have a tag and crest. The crest represents something and it enables their digimon to digivolve a step further."

"It does?"

"Yeah."

"Well, where's the crest?"

"I'm not certain."

"Oh well." I stated and slipped the tag around my neck. "Not too shabby looking." I said smiling.

Cubmon nodded.

I got up, brushed myself off, and picked up Cubmon. Then we started walking through the cave, trying to find the exit.

There were lots of strange pictures on the wall. One was an orange sun, a pink flower, a green teardrop, a gray cross, a red heart, and some other pictures I couldn't really described. I finally stopped when one picture caught me eye. It was light blue and was three circles connected like a triangle with a circle around them.

"Well, what do you know, Joy." Cubmon stated looking at the picture.

"What?"

"That," she stated indicating the picture of the cirlces, "is the emblem of Joy."

"Oh. What about these other pictures?"

"Courage, Light, Sincerity, Reliability and Love."

I stayed behind a little longer. There was something about Joy that seemed so familiar. Oh well. I just shrugged it off and kept walking. We finally stepped back into the blinding sunlight.

"Well, I guess we better keep moving." I stated.

Cubmon nodded and commented, "Yeah. And besides, I'll be able to find some food."

So we started walking again. This time it was towards a forest. I hope we find the other digi-destined soon.

~*Meanwhile*~

"Flymon, you idiot! I told you not to let them get away. You failed me, just like Kuwagimon, and you know what happens to failures!" a voice boomed. It was a dark room. All that could be seen was Flymon trembling and two red, beady eyes.

"Nightmare Anhilation!" she yelled as a black vortex engulfed Flymon. His screams could be heard from all around. Suddenly everything was silent.

"I must keep that 9th little brat away from the others. If not, they might discover me and with her on their side, beat me. But who to stop her...Hmm..."
