The Story (manga version)
The Starlight Season starts right after the SuperS season ends. All the scouts are in highschool, enjoying their lives, joining clubs, etc. Serena has a heartbreak though, because Darien is traveling to the US to study at Harvard. Before leaving, he gives her a ring and slips it on her finger. However, Galaxia sudenly shows up and takes Darien's star seed, which causes his body to dissentigrate. Serena, not believing her beloved is dead, faints, only to be picked up by Seiya of the Three Lights who give her a ride home. Serena has nightmares of the encounter, but her mind has blacked it out.
The other inner scouts are more interested in the newest boy band, the Three Lights. Mina, Lita, Rei,and even Ami love them. They bring Serena to a concert in which Michiru (Michelle) and Haruna (Amara) play a duet with the Three Lights. They are attacked by Sailor Iron Mouse. The Scouts have a hard time fighting another Sailor Scout, but are saved by the Mysterious Sailor Starlights.
The Story (anime version)
The Stars season for the anime picks off where the SuperS ended with Queen Nehelemia coming back to haunt to Sailor Senshi. Then, the Stars start up with Mamoru heading to the US, the Starlights, etc, etc. There are some major difference between the two- including what Galaxia and Chibi are and their relation to each other.
Who are the Starlights and what happened to Darien? To find out, read the magna or watch the anime. Trust me; it's much more emotional that way.

Kou Seiya is one of the Sailor Starlights, Sailor Star Fighter. Seiya has developed an attraction to Serena, which makes Darien very protective and suspicious. Seiya doesn't seem to mind, as he flirts with Serena day in and day out. Like the rest of the Sailor Starlights, Seiya is a guy but transforms into a girl. The Starlights seem to have their own agenda, as they aren't part of the team in Sailor Scouts. Seiya, in particular, has a particular beef with Amara, and this is paralled with the tension between Super Sailor Uranus and Sailor Star Fighter.

Kou Taiki is another of the Sailor Starlights, Sailor Star Maker. He is very studious; he is the top of his class, alot like Ami. A practical guy, who sees the world in purely scientific terms. Like the rest of the Sailor Starlights, Taiki is a guy but transforms into a girl. Perfect disguise, huh? The Starlights and the Senshi fight the badguys as how the Inner and Outer Senshi fought the Heart Snatchers in Sailor Moon S.

Kou Yaten is yet another one of the Sailor Starlights, Sailor Star healer. Yaten is a squeamish, artsy guy. Yaten has the most obnoxious, self-centered attitude, and he seems to have a "comment" towards anything anyone says. Yaten is worse than Raye when it comes to picking on and making fun of others, especially Serena. As Sailor Star Healer, she fights against Sailor Galaxia and her various minions alongside Sailors Star Fighter and Star Maker. They're very mysterious, and keep to themselves, much like how the Outer Senshi kept to themselves in Sailor Moon S.
